  1. I never heard anything about there being a problem with rescue groups from the south. Another thing to consider is their adoption fees and services. If they are charging high adoption fees but not vaccinating or spaying or neutering the pets, then this is a sign that you are actually dealing with a for-profit business rather than a non-profit organization. A for-profit won’t have a 501(c)3, so it is a great idea to ask to see this.

    • I think its a great idea to ask for those documents. There is just to many people getting on the bandwagon and trying to profit from the pet industry.
