Wagging Nyon Review

Here are a few highlights that your owners might enjoy between dog walks…

The Festival of Living Arts occurs in August, celebrating theatre, dance, and all forms of live performance. Nyon is also the home of the Visions du Reel International Film Festival every April. Additional festivals celebrating contemporary porcelain and ceramics are held here, as are the Heritage Days.

Nyon hosts the Paleo Festival, one of the biggest music festivals in Switzerland in the last week of July every year.  However, don’t bring your dog. It’s for people only.

Nyon’s street markets are a treat you won’t want to miss. From farm fresh produce, local craft and clothes shopping. You can find my owner’s market stall here almost every Saturday. You might even see me sitting on her lap. Another great market is the monthly (puce- market) second-hand market in the Rive, you’ll find all sorts of temptations at your fingertips. Including great sausage sandwiches!

Here are my recommendations and reviews of Hotels, restaurants, bars, and shopping.

They have a sign on the door that says no dogs, however, we dogs seem to never have a problem here. Also, the outdoor seating is always happy to see you. They will serve you water if needed. A fun pub-like bar with plenty of wood and brass inside that serves terrific quality beer. You can see the copper vats inside the bar, that look great. There is a varied menu also, which includes excellent Flammkuchen (like a pizza), burgers, steaks, etc.
