Wagging Review Hotel Cour des Loges Lyon France

dog friendly hotel Lyon France

We took a visit to Lyon in France. It is about a two-hour drive from where we live in

Switzerland. You can also take a dog-friendly train to Lyon, and I believe it only takes about two hours as well. It was just a little weekend break to enjoy the city and see the sights.

We decided on  Cour des Loges for two reasons, one, of course, is that it is a dog-friendly hotel and second it was located right in the center of the old town, with car-free cobbled streets, shops, loads of outdoor restaurants and tons of charm. Also, it was located on a street called Rue du Boeuf, which to me sounded very tasty!

Cour Des Loges is a luxury, boutique hotel, with a stunning architectural history – it’s built in a

beautiful row of historic buildings, one of which is over 700 years old. The lobby is located in an enclosed courtyard that has many beautiful features to look at, also check in was very a pleasure, quick and efficient. As a dog, I was acknowledged that I was staying too, got a pat on the head and my owners were asked if they need anything for me to enjoy my stay. The hotel offers two restaurants (Café-Épicerie and Les Loges), a bar, wine cellar, Spa, swimming-pool, sauna,  fitness center, and valet parking.

of the four room types that the hotel offers, we decided on the Classic room due to the hotel boasts that each room is unique and we thought it would be a good choice for the weekend.

Our room was located on the fourth floor facing the back and had views of tiled rooftops, which was quite pretty and quiet. The room was a pretty good size; not large, but not tiny either, it had enough room to put down my dog bed and set up a dining area for my dinner. The room came with a small table for two, a king size bed, lots of storage space and a mini bar to place my dog food in to stay fresh.  The room was nicely decorated with hardwood floors, beam ceilings and nice touches on the walls. The bathroom, however, was in two parts; a toilet and bidet in one room and the bathtub and sink in another room, right beside the bed and closed with a curtain.  The tub was massive and was really big, I would say big enough for two. However, the layout of the bathrooms was a bit awkward, due to the loo was in one room and the sink in another. Also if you like stand up showers, this room is not for you and you will need to request a room that does have a stand-up shower. I believe the hotel has rooms with showers so be sure to ask.

Dog rate: 20 Euros per night.
