Did you say dog treat? I thought you did, and they’re a favourite brand of mine too! If you have not tried Old Mother Hubbard’s dog treats, well you’re in for a treat.
Considering I use to live in New York, I’m very familiar with Old Mother Hubbard dog treats and use always have a pack or two in my dog treat cupboard.
- All natural wholesome ingredients
- slow oven baked to keep the flavours
- Good classical crunch
So when we found out that you can now get these tasty little treats on this side of the pond, it really got my tail wagging. Lucky for me I was given two bags to try out and see if they we’re as good as I remembered. I was able to get my paws on P-Nutter and Just Vegg’N.
P-Nutter Dog Treat
Catch it before it’s gone! In fact this is the very last P-Nuttier treat I have left and once it gets finished being photographed it’s going in my mouth. Made with Peanut Butter and Molasses I could gobble them up all day long.
Cane Molasses: Cane molasses is the result of the manufacture of sucrose from sugar cane. It must contain not less than 43% total sugars expressed as invert and not less than 73% total solids. This ingredient is often used as a flavor or natural colorant and in moderation is fine for dogs.
Just Vegg’N Dog Treat
You’d be surprized but I do love my veggies, especially when they are baked into a crunchy little treat. Old Mother Hubbard oven-bakes her veggie dog treats with carrots, sweet potatoes, apples and parsley.
Parsley: A good source of flavonoids, antioxidants, and vitamins. It also contains lycopene and carotenes. It makes a good breath freshener and can also soothe the stomach.
About Old Mother Hubbard Dog Treats
Old Mother Hubbard Baking Company began baking in Gloucester, Massachusetts over 80 years ago. They started by developing a wholesome snack for fishermen while they were out at sea. As the story goes, one day, a dog loving sailor threw a biscuit to his dog who happily gobbled it up. The rest, as they say, is history.
Today they are still baking up a storm and now they’re available here in the UK. Their bakers who must be super dogs lovers are cooking up tasty natural pet snacks in a whole range of flavours.
I love my treats and I especially love biscuits that are crunchy and of course tasty. I have been known to turn up my nose to a poorly made treat, however I do know a good one when I taste it. First of all my peep loves the size of the re-sealable bag. Each 11 oz (312g) bag is packed full of little bones that are about 3 cm long.
I also like the fact that they are very clear on what ingredients they put into their dog treats and really appricate their ingredient dictionary that lists everything they use in their products.
If you can’t decide what treat would be good for your dog, you’ll really like their fun little app that will help you choose the best treat for your pet.
