One of the best things I love to do is give my dog a few treats throughout the day, and of course, my dog loves it too! What I like even better is giving healthy treats that will also benefit Maggie’s health. Maggie is now eleven, and it’s important that I make sure that everything she eats will help keep her active and fit.
However, having a treat that is tasty for your dog and is healthy can at times be very tricky. Have you ever given your dog a healthy treat to have your dog turn its nose up? It’s such a pain, so when Pet Delicious sent us their natural treats, I was curious if dogs would like them. So sit back and let me tell you about our doggie panel taste test!

Healthy Treats Paw-some Review
Pet Delicious makes three great flavours, Chicken, Lamb and Maggie’s personal favourite Tuna. Plus they also just made a Meaty feast treat for our readers! It’s a limited edition and sounds fantastic with its blend of Chicken, Beef & Cinnamon. But more about that later, on with the review!
healthy Dog: A tasty little blend of chicken, woodland fruits and a blend of beneficial botanical herbs such as Flaxseed and Psyllium Husk. Excellent for older dogs and dogs with digestion problems. Flaxseed is rich in omega 3 oils and also help your dog’s joints and mobility, especially in dog’s that suffer from conditions like canine arthritis.
Psyllium Husk helps support digestive health. Did you know that if your dog suffers from anal glands problems, the extra bulk that the psyllium creates will stimulate a better movement of the muscles in the walls of the intestines which helps to push waste matter along and out.
And those are just a few of the botanical herbs packed into this little treat.
Country Dog: At first I thought this treat was made from the muscle meat of lamb but was pleasantly surprised that it was made with lamb’s liver which is amazing for dogs.
Lamb’s liver is packed full of Vitamin A, B12, iron, and selenium also an excellent source of protein too! Besides, dogs are wild about liver!
Sea Dog: This big fish treat is especially good for dogs who have skin allergies to improve coat condition and also really healthy for older dogs with joint problems. It’s like a little tuna salad for your dog with its mixture of green peas and botanicals. Dog’s love tuna and no wonder it’s packed full of protein, vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids.
Each and every treat is also good for your dog’s tum, making sure that they are gluten-free. Using spelt, barley flour and brown rice. Each little treat blend also are pack full with natural tasty essential to keep your pup healthy and happy!
Also besides the packaging looking sharp, it’s also easy to reseal!
After we received our tasty bags from Pet Delicious, we decided that we would like our taste tester to try each flavour for taste and crunchiness. Considering they are a great size for a reward treat, we also had them in Hardi’s Hounds groom van to give to dogs while they were being groomed.
Our three judges were very eager to try the treats and were willing to taste a few extra just to be sure. All three were a success, but the clear winner was the Country Lamb which all three dogs wanted to try again and again. But don’t get me wrong, each dog was also quite willing to get their paws on Sea Dog and Chicken, so clearly a winner all around.
And how did the test go with our dogs getting groomed? Out of the 10 to 12 dogs that tried it, only one would not eat the treat. Which could just mean that he was a little nervous about the whole grooming event.
All in all, it passed the doggy smell and taste test!
Considering we tried the treats with all types of dogs, it was great to see the reactions, except maybe from the Labradors, who, well are just greedy! It looks like a winner to us!
