Great Outdoor Getaways in the UK

Cornwall

If there is one thing I know, dogs love beaches just as much as we do if not more. With squishy sand between their paws, and rolling waves to romp, bite and jump through it’s a dog’s paradise. That is why a weekend getaway to Cornwall is a must for any beach lover. Cornwall has great dog-friendly beaches and loads of pet happy places to eat, play and enjoy. A perfect place to watch the sunset while Fido digs to his heart’s content.

The Cotswolds

The Cotswolds and the surrounding area is an outdoor dog lover’s dream. The Cotswolds rolling green hills are considered one of the most picturesque destinations to visit in England. With so much to see and do, from strolling through quaint villages, walking through trails and spending time near the water, both you and your dog will enjoy all that the countryside has to offer. And if you like the slow and easy pace of country charm in outstanding natural beauty a dog-friendly cottage tucked away in the rolling hills would be the perfect way to enjoy those dog days of summer.

Wales

Wales is just mad about dogs and welcome them everywhere. With 850 miles of coastline and a bounty of trails through the mountains, there is plenty of open space to let your dog run free. Why not enjoy the weekend in Bala Lake where you and your dog can both enjoy a few water sports, like kayaking. After all that fresh air what better place to wind down than in one of Wales charming pubs with a tired out pup by your side.

Make sure that you check out KayakNV for the best adventure ever!

Belgium

A trip to the Flander’s coast in Belgium will give you a choice of dog-friendly B&Bs, special pet railway tickets, and of course, beaches reserved for leash-free playtime alongside the ocean which just says doggie heaven.

My favourite spot is between Ostend and Middelkerke, where lease free beaches are available all year long. Your dog will be treated like royalty while romping through the towns. Both villages offer designated doggie fields and doggy poop tubes, perfect to get rid of those poop bags!

France

Could France be the most dog-friendly country in the world? We think so, and it’s such a pleasure to know that your dog is welcome everywhere, from markets, shops, dining, and caves, everyone will be happy to see you both.

We also love that it only takes a couple of hours from London to escape to France where you can spend the weekend with your pooch in tow. With charming French villages, vineyards and local markets to explore. Picture a beautiful walk through the French countryside and finishing your day on your terrace in a charming French country home with a great glass of wine. A perfect time for both you and Fido to bond while enjoying all of France’s beauty.
